Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to My Meno. We’re here to support you through your menopausal journey, and starting your journey is easy. Here’s a step-by-step guide to begin your journey with us:
Consultations
How do I book in to see you?
You can book via the website. Alternatively, you can email us on clientcare@mymeno.com.
Who will I see when at my appointment?
You’ll see one of our NMC Registered Nurse Prescribers who specialise in menopausal care. The nurse will be your guide and support you throughout your journey.
Where are your clinics located?
Our Clinics are predominantly in the North of England, however we have lots more clinics opening UK wide soon! In the meantime we would love to see you online. Please go to Clinic Locations to see which one is closest to you.
What are the costs of a consultation?
Please see our Pricing Page for a complete list of all costs.
Can I have a video consultation?
Yes, we can arrange a secure video consultation if you prefer to see your Nurse at home. Blood tests can be arranged during the video call.
How long does a consultation last?
Most initial consultations last 45-60 mins, depending on your specific needs.
How many consultations will I need?
Every client is treated on an individual basis, so the number of consultations needed for each woman varies. Every client will have an initial consultation and a follow-up call seven working days after that. Another follow-up consultation 3 months later is advisable, and all clients should have a review of their medication at least every 12 months.
Medication
How will I get medication if its needed?
Depending on the type of medication you and your Nurse decide on during consultation, your private prescription will be emailed to the Pharmacy of your choice. Alternatively, we can send your prescription to a specialised Pharmacy which will make your medication bespoke for you and ship it to you directly.
What happens if I have a problem with my medication?
When a woman starts hormone replacement medication, there is normally a period of adjustment. Your Nurse will explain this period fully to you at your appointment. However, if you have any concerns while taking your medication, your Nurse will be available to advise and help you through the process.
Do I need to stop taking my current HRT before I come to see you?
No, please continue taking any prescribed medication until you have been to see your Nurse. We need to know any current medications you are taking, so please bring a list of medication and dosages with you.
How much does the medication cost?
Costs of medications will vary depending on the type of medication prescribed (HRT or BHRT), dose, quantity and duration. Pharmacies will charge you for the costs of the medication, dispensing fees and delivery costs if required. A dispensing fee of £35 will be charged for a repeat prescription between appointments, Please see our Pricing Page for a full list of all costs.
Can you prescribe testosterone?
Yes, testosterone is an important element of the female hormone profile, which often drops during perimenopause and menopause. Following blood analysis, we may suggest a prescription of testosterone depending on your symptoms and blood results.
How long does it take for the medication to work?
Most women report beginning to feel the benefits within a few weeks, but it can take several months for hormones to settle so we have to be patient!
Why do you prescribe both BHRT and HRT?
Both options have benefits. It is important that women are offered the choice once they have been fully informed of the risks and benefits of both.

Do all your clinics have wheelchair access?
